self-contained spa, commonly referred to as a portable spa, is one that
has all components installed under the spa, contained inside the spa skirt.

contractor spa, or non-self contained spa, USUALLY is one that is installed
in the deck, with separate pump(s), blower, heater, filter, timers and
controls mounted away from the spa shell. Most spas of this type
have gas heaters. |
